GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): At least 14 Taliban militants have been killed and as many wounded during a clash and a bomb blast in southern Ghazni province, officials said on Monday.
Maj. Aimal Khan Momand, the 203rd Thunder Corps’ spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents stormed security check-posts in the Arzo area of the provincial capital late on Sunday night.
He said 10 militants were killed and another 11 wounded in retaliatory fire from the security personnel. Momand and civilians and security forces suffered no causalities in the clash.
According to another report, four militants were killed and another three wounded on Sunday night when the roadside bomb they were planting in Shaliz area of the provincial capital went off prematurely.
Wahidullah Jumazada, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok that reinforcements had arrived in province to strength the security of of Ghazni City.
