Afghanistan records 28 new virus cases in 24 hours

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Thursday said 28 new coronavirus cases had been detected in the country during the last 24 hours, pushing up the total infections to 38,572.

A MoPH statement said that 343 suspected patients underwent tests in laboratories across the country, with 28 testing positive since Wednesday.

The ministry said 11 of the latest cases were reported in Herat, seven in Daikundi, four each in Kabul and Balkh and two in Kunduz.

During the period, 81 people recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 31,129, the statement added.

No one died from the disease during the period and the total deaths remained at 1,420.
