Kabul blast: Suspicion falls on Haqqani Network

KABUL, says the acting interior minister.

Massoud Andarabi said late on Wednesday preliminary reports indicated RDX-HMX + Nitroglycerin were used in the IED attack in Taimani area earlier in the day.

The nature of the material and the attack itself were similar to other assaults claimed by the Haqqani Network in the past, the minister added.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, with the Taliban denying involvement in the bombing.

The vice-president suffered only minor injuries in the blast, which killed at least 10 people and wounded dozens, including some bodyguards of the VP.
