Logar PC chief, secretary survive gun attack

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two senior Provincial Council members of central Logar province survived a Taliban gun attack on Thursday.

Hassibullah Stanekzai, the PC chairman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they came under attack from Taliban militants in Wakhjan area of the Mohammad Afgha district shortly after 11am today.

He said, “PC secretary Adalat Abdul Rahimzai was also with me when we were attacked. The Taliban gunmen opened firing at our vehicle.”

With no Taliban spokesman available for comment, Logar police spokesman Shahpur Ahmadzai confirmed the incident and said it was a botched attack. Security personnel were investigating the incident.
