DOHA (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar says the establishment of an interim government will not be discussed during the intra-Afghan peace dialogue.
Atmar made the remarks to journalists travelling with him to Qatar late on Tuesday. He said ensuring peace and safeguarding the system was the responsibility of the government.
It was the first time in history that direct talks are happening between the government and the Taliban without mediators and facilitators, he said. The talks would span on several rounds.
Atmar added around 15 countries were willing to host intra-Afghan parleys. A ceasefire, top of the agenda, would be agreed by the parties, the minister hoped.
