FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Nearly two dozen students of the university in western Ghor province have tested positive for Covid-19 and are currently quarantined, an official said Sunday.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today said 75 new Covid-19 cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s overall tally to 38,716.
Dr. Juma Gul Yaqubi, Ghor public health director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 63 students underwent tests, with 23 diagnosing positive for the infection during the last three days.
He said: “We are now in the second phase of coronavirus, as schools and universities are reopened, thus 23 students are tested positive due to getting together.”
Sayed Shir Agha Hasimi, Ghor University chancellor, said the infected students did not practice MoPH guidelines .
