KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Eight security forces have been killed and a ninth wounded in an overnight Taliban attack in northern Kunduz province, an official said Wednesday.
The security official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News that insurgents stormed security check-posts in bazaar area of Dashti Barchi district late Tuesday night.
The attack left five intelligence operatives and three Afghan local police (ALP) men dead and one intelligence operative wounded.
But the governor’s spokesman Ismatulah Muradi said six security men were killed in the attack.
Akhtar Mohammad, a resident of the area, confirmed the Taliban attack in the baazar area but he had no information about casualties.
