HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Six security forces have been killed and six others injured in a car bombing in the Zawal district of western Herat province, an official said on Thursday.
Governor spokesperson Jilani Farhad confirmed the incident and said the Taliban also suffered casualties in a fire fight after the bombing.
According to a well-placed source the Taliban blown up an explosive-laden Mazada type vehicle in front of security forces base in the Zawal district three days back.
After their bombing the Taliban and security forces got engaged in firefight in which 15 Taliban were killed.
The security source said that it was the Taliban major bombing recently that happened in Herat.
Another source wishing not to be named said the explosive-laden vehicle was parked 100 metres from the army base in the Azizabad locality and was blown up by firing a rocket into it.
