Pul-i-Charkhi inmates’ education, skill levels evaluation begins

KABUL and skill level has begun in the Pul-i-Charkhi jail for the first time, a statement said on Sunday.

The purpose of the process is to provide educational, vocational training and other facilities to prisoners to help them rehabilitate, the Prison Affairs Department statement said.

It said the prisoners’ evaluation process was being conducted through interviews and written tests in which they were asked certain questions.

Prisons Affairs Department Head Usmani said: “Prisoners who demonstrate well during this training program will get an appreciation letter and will be tasked with training other prisoners and will get one year reduction in jail sentence.”

He added the purpose of the program was to judge education and skill levels of prisoners and prepare them for future programs and trainings.
