Suicide bomber who planned attack against Senate chairman arrested

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Personnel of the National Directorate of Security (NDS Chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, an official said.

Asadullah Dawlatzai, spokesperson for the governor of Laghman province, said NDS personnel on the bases of a tip-off arrested Erfanullah known as Sarkhrodi with a suicide jaket in Jalalabad City this morning.

The bomber was trained and mastermind by Qari Bilal, in-charge of suicide bombers.

Separately, security forces recovered 256-kilomgram of explosives from a Zranj type vehicle on Kabul-Jalalabad Road in the Qarghaio district of Laghman.

Security forces arrested a man named Mohammad Agul in connection to the transfer of explosives and was being intarogated.

The Taliban have not spoken about the incidents.
