Taliban among 5 held in Nangarhar operation

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have arrested five individuals, including three Taliban militants, during a special operation in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.

Deputy Governor Tamim Arif Momand told at a press conference here the National Directorate of security (NDS) personnel carried out operations in Khogyani and Behsud districts and Jalalabad.

He claimed the NDS agents detained three Taliban insurgents along with weapons and ammunition during the operations. The NDS have also detained two persons along with 1100,000 fake afghani notes.

Around 4,029 kilograms of sodium, potassium and nitrate were seized during the NDS operation, the deputy governor added. The detainees have confessed to their crimes.
