Taliban agreed to talks with Pakistan support: Khalilzad

KABUL’s support, a media report said on Saturday.

Pakistan’s Geo Television reported that Khalilzad has hailed Pakistan’s role in the Afghan peace process during the past two years since the US launched its efforts for reconciliation in Afghanistan.

The envoy said Pakistan made the Taliban to agree to talks and put pressure on the group to reduce violence. He said that peace was inevitable but there were some challenges as well.

He said the Afghans sat around the table for talks after 42 years of conflict.
