GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Seven Taliban militants, including a shadow district chief, have been killed in an airstrike by Afghan Forces in the Deh Yak district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.
Governor spokesman Wahidullah Jumazada told Pajhwok Afghan News the air strike hit the vehicle carrying Hazrat Khalid, Taliban’s district chief for Deh Yak, and killed seven people, including Khalid, late on Monday night.
According to Jumazada, the Taliban vehicle that carried weapons and ammunition was also destroyed in the strike. Civilians or security forces escaped unhurt in this operation.
Rahimullah, a resident, said residents lived in constant fear due to frequent clashes between insurgents and security forces in the district.
The Taliban have said nothing in this regard.
