KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani, who is due to arrive in Qatar from Kuwait on Monday, will meet his government-backed peace negotiating team, US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and NATO Commander Gen. Scott Miller.
President Ghani on Monday morning left for Kuwait to offer fateha for and pay homage to the late emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Presidential Palace said Ghani, leading a high-level delegation, would then travel to Doha, the capital of Qatar, on a two-day official visit.
A Presidential Palace source told Pajhwok that President Ghani would land in the Qatari capital Doha city before this noon.
The source added the Afghan government peace negotiating team will meet the president and will him about their latest meetings with the Taliban delegation in Doha.
The source further added President Ghani will also hold meeting with the US special representative for the Afghan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad and Gen. Miller to discuss the Afghan peace process.
The Presidential Palace said Ghani will also meet with a number of Qatari officials during his official visit.
President Ghani will deliver his speech at the Qatari institute where he will also meet a number of Afghans traders.
