KABUL (Pajhwok): High National Reconciliation Council (HNRC) Chairman Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday left for India on a four-day official visit, his office said.
A statement from the HNRC office said Abdullah would discuss the Afghan peace process with the Indian prime minister, foreign minister and national security advisor.
Before leaving for New Delhi he hailed India as Afghanistan of the war-torn country.
India had funded major projects, construction of structures and dams in Afghanistan, he added, calling Delhi’s role in the Afghan peace process vital,
Without support from regional countries, peace and stability would not be possible in Afghanistan, believed the HCNR chairman, who visited Pakistan last week.
Afghanistan was ready to have closer relations and deeper cooperation with the world, especially with regional countries, based on mutual respect, he concluded.
