PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead three people in the capital of northern Baghlan province, sources said on Wednesday.
A resident of the area, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that unknown armed men gunned down three civilians in Hussainkhel village of Pul-i-Khumri City on Tuesday night.
He said the dead included two elders, Haji Yar Mohammad and Mohibullah and another disabled young man named Javed.
According to another source in the area, the slain individuals had no enmity but their sons are in Taliban ranks.
Qader Khan, said that the disabled man had a food store and was not involved in any political activity.
Abdullah Malang, spokesman for the public health department, confirmed receiving three bodies from Hussainkhel village. Police spokesman Javed Ahmad Basharat confirmed the incident and said investigation was underway by police.
