HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): At least 12 Taliban insurgents, including four commanders, have been killed in the Adraskan district of western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.
Ali Ahmad Faqeeryar, the district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents wanted to target security check-posts. But the security forces repulsed their attacks.
He said 12 insurgents were killed, including four commanders Mullah Anwar, Mullah Mansour, Mullah Sibghat and Mullah Idrees.
The bodies of the fighters were still lying at the clash site, he said, adding the security forces suffered no casualties.
