ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Forty Daesh rebels, including six Taliban, have joined peace process in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Sunday.
Governor Mohammad Iqbal Saeed said 34 Daesh insurgents and six Taliban have joined peace process as a result of efforts made by the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
He said reconciled militants staged subversive activities in Watapur, Manogi, Chapa Dara and Sawkai districts.
Reconciled Daesh Commander Noor Zaman Noori told reporters that he joined Daesh three years back and fought with Taliban and government in Watapur district.
He regretted over his past and said he did not want to spent violent life. Noori pledged to work of development and prosperity instead of conflict and war.
