Bamyan Governor Sayed Anwar Rahmati said in a letter to the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) on Sunday.
The governor informed IDLG that Abdul Rahman Shahidani had joined the insurgent movement and had traveled to Doha, Qatar, as well.
Nargis Mohmand, spokesperson for IDLG, confirmed receiving the letter about the former lawmaker. She said the letter had been passed on to security and intelligence organs for further investigations.
