PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): At least 14 security forces have been killed and another two missing after Taliban insurgents attacked the Guzra district’s center in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Wednesday.
A security official, wishing to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents coordinately stormed the district’s office late on Tuesday night.
He said Atif, a local military commander, was among five soldiers killed and two others were missing in the nighttime attack.
He said the insurgents also attacked a security check-post the same night in the district, killing nine security forces.
The security forces and the Taliban have not yet commented about the attacks.
