JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Appellate Court in eastern Nangarhar province has sentenced eight individuals to jail terms from one to 14 years for committing various crimes, the court said in a statement on Thursday.
The jury, led by Urban Court chief Mohammad Inam Faiaq, handed down the sentences during an open trial attended by prosecutors, defense lawyers, the accused and common people.
After arguments presented by the prosecutors and defense lawyers, the judges sentenced two persons to eight years in jail each over stealing a rickshaw from a person.
