3 policemen killed in Parwan roadside bombing

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A district crime branch chief was killed chief along with two other policemen in a roadside bombing in central Parwan province on Saturday, an official said.

Mohammad Sadiq Hashimi, the provincial crime branch chief, said that a police pick-up struck a roadside bomb in Salang district at around 7:00am.

Jamaluddin, the district crime branch head, and two other policemen were killed in the explosion, the official said, adding a fourth cop was wounded.

Hashimi said the policemen, who had gone to the Lalma village of the district to probe a security incident came under the bomb attack there.

Dr. Abdul Khalil Haidari, the Parwan civil hospital director, confirmed receiving three bodies and an injured policeman from the blast site.

In Kapisa, a young girl committed suicide by shooting herself with a gun. Police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Shourish said the incident took place in Hesa-i-Awal Kohistan district on Friday night.
