HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Power supply to half of western Herat province has been cut off as a result of a Taliban attack on an electricity pylon.

Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) in said the power pylon was blown up in the Kalat-e-Ghazi village of Ghoryan district on Wednesday night.

With the destruction of the pylon bringing electricity from Iran to Herat, 50 percent of the provincial population has been deprived of electricity supply.

“When there is no longer a Taliban threat in the area and the security forces are deployed, engineers will go there to fix the issue,” DABS said in a statement.
