KABUL Speaker Mir Rahman Rahmani is due to arrive in Islamabad on Friday at the head of a high level delegation, the Pakistani envoy said on Thursday.
Pakistan Mohammad Sadiq on his twitter wrote: “A high powered Afghan parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Wolesi Jirga Mir Rahman Rahmani will visit Pakistan from 23 Oct.”
He said the delegation will include chairmen of five standing committees, several other parliamentarians, Secretary General and officials of the Wolesi Jirga.
Fahim Kargar, head of Rahmani’s office, also confirmed to Pajhwok preparations for Rahmani’s visit to Islamabad.
He said during the trip, Rahmani would meet Pakistan parliament speaker and other key officials.
The Wolesi Jirga speaker’s visit to Pakistan follows the visits of Afghan politicians Abdullah Abdullah and Gulbuddin Hikmatyar.
