KABUL attack on a military base Nimroz province, officials say.
The assault took place in the Deh Mazang locality of Delaram district on Friday, said the district’s administrative chief.
Shah Nawaz Qaderi said four soldiers were wounded in the attack while six others were captured by the insurgents.
The attackers reportedly decamped with all equipment on the base.
Dadullah Qane, a member of the provincial council, said the predawn attack on the ANA base began at about 2am.
A dozen militants were also killed in the ensuing clash with the soldiers.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying many soldiers were killed or wounded. At least six troops were taken hostage, the group added.
