Nimroz: 6 dam guards killed in Taliban attack

KABUL in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Saturday.

Kamal Khan dam is located in Chahar Borjak district and its construction is nearing completion.

Zia Wadan, spokesman for NPPF, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban militants attacked security check-posts around the dam site on Friday night.

He said six security personnel were killed and two others wounded in the overnight attack.

The official accused the insurgents of trampling on their commitments and resuming attacks on national projects and public assets.

Construction work on this dam has been underway for the past few years. Attacks from militants have inflicted casualties on dozens of security personnel and engineers.
