KABUL (MoPH) said on Monday.
More than 430 suspected cases were referred to different laboratories in the past 24 hours, with 104 patients testing positive, according to a MoPH statement.
Of the new cases, 41 people tested positive in Herat, 19 in Kabul, 17 in Ghazni, nine in Kandahar, seven in Takhar, seven in Kunduz, two in Nimroz and one each in Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
Four people died of the disease in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 1,518.
Positive coronavirus surged at a time when earlier experts had claimed coronavirus cases were on the decline in the country.
