KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar and his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tleuberdi have discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.

The MoFA said Atmar, in a telephone call, exchanged views with the Mukhtar Tleuberdi on issues of common and regional interest.

Atmar commended Kazakhstan for its humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan, especially during the outbreak of Covid-19, as well as its support for Afghan peace talks.

The two sides discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and agreed on forming a joint economic commission on promoting trade, transit and investment.

On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, Atmar hailed Kazakhstan as a brotherly and generous country, the statement added.

Relations with Kazakhstan were of special importance to Afghanistan in line with priorities of the country’s foreign policy, the minister concluded.
