KABUL as a basis for a political settlement.
Addressing a gathering marking Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) in Kabul, President Ghani said the Afghans were a Muslim nation and they lived in an Islamic system based on the Quran, Hadiths and Shariah.
He said the Afghanistan constitution was Islamic and its first, second and third articles were a best example in this regard.
“On the world level, our constitution is the best Islamic law.”
The president also accused the Taliban of releasing 40 drug smugglers in return for money.
“They accuse the government of corruption, but they themselves released drug smugglers against money.”
Ghani said the Afghan forces acted as per Islamic laws. He said more than 1000 mosques were either built or being built across the country.
“We build mosques but the Taliban destroy them. These mosques are built with money of Afghan people. We save money for this purpose.”
The president asked the Taliban to hold talks with religious scholars of Afghanistan on the conflict.
