KABUL (Pajhwok): Around 46 million people have tested positive for Covid-19 across the global, with three nations making 55 percent of them, statistics from a US-based university suggest.
After emerging in the Wuhan city of China last December, the Covid-19 virus has spread to at least 210 countries around the globe. The US tops the list of countries with most cases, followed by India and Brazil.
According to data from the Johns Hopkins University, 46 million people have been infected with the coronavirus internationally as of Saturday morning.
So far 1.194 million individuals have died from the novel coronavirus, most of them in European countries and the United States of America.
About 33 million people have recovered from the disease worldwide as of Saturday morning.
According to the data, 55 percent infected people out of the 46 million are in the US, Brazil and India.
The US has suffered most casualties with more than 9 million infections and 235,000 fatalities until Saturday.
In Afghanistan too, the virus is still spreading, with more than 41,268 infections and 1,532 deaths. About 34,239 have recovered from the pandemic.
