KABUL insurgents, including the deputy head of movement’s military commission, have been killed in a security operation in southern Helmand province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Saturday.
In a statement, the ministry said Mullah Amanullah — deputy head of the Taliban military commission for Helmand — was killed along with eight other fighters in an airstrike in Nawa district.
The ministry added one vehicle, four Kalashnikovs, two other rifles and two walkie-talkies were also destroyed during on Friday’s strike.
Separately, 14 militants were killed and nine others wounded as a result of a clash in the Deh Rawood district of central Uruzgan province, the statement said.
Taliban have not yet commented on the two incidents.
