KABUL in the western province for its rehabilitation, a statement from the Presidential Palace said on Sunday.
The Musalla Minarets of Herat are five huge ruined minaret towers in Herat city, the provincial capital. The minarets and the complex were built by Queen Gawhar Shad in 1417.
In a telephonic chat with Herat governor, the president issued orders to dispatch a technical team to the site and conduct an inspection for rehabilitation of the historic marinate, the statement said.
Governor Qatali assured the president that the outcome of the minaret inspection would be soon shared with the Presidential Palace.
Local officials in Herat say one out of the five Musalla minarets is in critical condition and is on the verge of collapse. The historic minarets were built when Taimouri density ruled the region.
