13 security men held for negligence in varsity attack

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday said 13 security officials, including the 3rd police district chief of Kabul, have been arrested for negligence in the attack on Kabul University.

At least 22 people were killed and as many wounded in a bomb and gun attack on the Kabul University on last Monday.

Tariq Aryan, MoI spokesman, wrote on his Facebook page, that 13 security officials, including the 3rd police district, have been detained and introduced to the Attorney General Office (AGO) for their carelessness regarding the attack on the Kabul University.

It’s worth mentioning that acting minister of interior affairs Masoud Andarabi had earlier said the security chief of an area will be dismissed if a security incident happens in his area.

The Taliban have denied their involvement in the attack that was strongly condemned by President Ashraf Ghani and a number of other government officials.
