JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Appellate Court in eastern Nangarhar province on Thursday sentenced two alleged kidnappers to death for killing a man after abducting him.
The jury, led by Urban Court chief Mohammad Inam Faiaq, handed down the sentence during an open trial. Prosecutors, defence lawyers, the accused and common people were present.
A statement from the governor’s house said after arguments from prosecutors and defence lawyers, the judges sentenced two persons to death over kidnapping and killing the man.
It added that the kidnappers had sought 500,000 Pakistani rupees in ransom . . .
