Journalist among 3 killed in Kabul explosion

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three people, including former TOLOnews journalist Yama Siawash, were killed as a result of an explosion in Kabul on Saturday, an official said.

Police spokesman Ferdos Faramarz said the blast took place in the 4^th Macro Ryan area of the 9^th police district at 7:45am. He said three civilians were killed in the explosion.

The explosion resulted from a magnetic bomb attached to a Corolla-type vehicle, the police official added.

Baktash Siawash, a former member of the Wolesi Jirga, confirmed the death of his brother Yama Siawash in the bombing.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion that came amid an uptick in violence across the country.
