<p>KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Five people were killed and two others injured in a landmine blast in the Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province on Saturday, an official said.</p>
<p>Governor Spokesperson Baheer Ahmad told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast ripped through a three-wheeler vehicle in Tabin locality this morning.</p>
<p>He said the individuals onboard in the vehicle were traveling to their farms to harvest pomegranates.</p>
<p>He said militants have planted several landmines and security forces were busy detecting and defusing them.</p>
<p>It is worth mentioning that security forces on Friday retook control of Arghandab district from <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a> militants.</p>
