Leading Trump, Biden inches closer to victory

KABUL (Pajhwok): As his electoral rival President Donald Trump’s chances continue to fade, Joe Biden leads by more than 28,000 votes in Pennsylvania.

A win in the state would hand Biden the electoral votes he requires to find his way to the White House, an influential US newspaper reported on Saturday.

The New York Times quoted the Democratic presidential runner as saying: “We’re going to win this race.” Biden hoped the address would be his victory speech.

He sounded hopeful of winning the presidential ballot, asserting his lead had given him a mandate for action on national issues.

“We’re going to win this race with a clear majority of the nation behind us. We’ve gotten over 74 million votes,” the ex-vice president remarked.

That number was more than any presidential ticket had ever won in the history of the United States, he added.
