KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Monday announced collecting above seven billion afghanis revenue in 15 days, bringing this year’s total revenue to about 142.7 billion afghanis.
In a statement, the MoF said 394 million afghanis were collected from property, 1,186,000,000 from income tax, 1,757,000,000 afghanis from non-tax revenue and 3,831,000,000 from other taxes.
The source said since the beginning of the current financial year, a total of 142,685,000,000 afghanis national revenue has been collected. Afghanistan’s fiscal year ends in December.
The surge in revenue comes as the government has earmarked 452,000,000,000 afghanis for operational and development budget for the next fiscal year and has sent the draft budget to the Parliament.
According to MoF, since the beginning of this fiscal year till November 7, 100,000,000,000 afgahnis (57.6%) development budget was spent and 221, 731,000,000 afgahnis ordinary budget was utilized, with the total budget spending reaching 67 percent.
