MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four security personnel have been killed and 12 others wounded in a car bombing targeted the Almar district police headquarter of northern Faryab privince
A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants detonated the explosives-packed Hamvee at the gate to the police the district police headquarters at around 11:40pm on Monday night.
He said the clash was still underway between the two sides and the militants stormed the police station from four directions.
He added four security personnel, including NDS personnel and policemen, were killed and 12 others wounded, including district police chief Bismillah.
Abdul Manan Qateh, a member of the provincial council, confirmed the bombing and said the explosion was so powerful that it caused damage the police station building and nearby shops.
He said four security forces, including the police chief, were injured.
