<p>SHEBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead, including head of district development assembly in the Faizabad district of northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Alif Shah, district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the three individuals came under gunmen attack on their way to home from <a href="/en/mosque" class="glossify-link">mosque</a> on Tuesday evening.</p>
<p>He said Shahrullah –head the development council—was among the dead. The motive behind assassinations was not immediately clear and the incident took place in <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a>-controlled area.</p>
<p>Deputy police chief Brig. Gen. Shah Agha Shetab blamed Taliban for the killing of <a href="/en/former-jihadi" class="glossify-link">former jihadi</a> commander and current head of development council for Haidarbad village.</p>
<p>He claimed the militants were trying to kill tribal elders and influential figures by launching terrorist activities.</p>
<p>The Taliban have not yet commented about the murders</p>
