FARAH (Pajhwok): Four border policemen and three insurgents have been killed during a clash in western Farah province near the border with Iran, police said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash erupted at Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi fort on Saturday night, leaving four border policemen and three attackers dead.
He said the slain insurgents included Mullah Saeed known as Omari. The insurgents ambushed the border policemen who were on a patrol about one kilometer away from their post.
Sadeq, a relative of one of the slain border policemen, said his cousin was among the four border police members died in the clash.
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
