PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Islamabad and Kabul are set to hold discussions on bilateral and transit trade as well as preferential trade agreement (PTA).

Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood is heading a trade delegation to Kabul on Monday (today) to boost bilateral trade ties.

The two sides are expected to confer on a new era of trade and investment cooperation, with Pakistan and beyond, Dawood tweeted.

Dawood may also meet President Ashraf Ghani during his visit to Kabul. The talks will happen on Nov 16-18.

Pakistan and Afghanistan had signed a transit trade agreement in 1965 that was revised in 2010. Pakistan had since been providing the landlocked country the transit facility.

Both sides have now agreed on amendments to the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA).
