Afghanistan records 213 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday announced detecting 213 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, pushing active total to 43,681.

In a statement, the ministry said 1,194 people underwent tests during the period, with 213 people testing positive for the infection.

Of the new cases, 53 were recorded in Kabul.

The ministry said 24 people recovered from the disease during the past 24 hours, taking the recoveries to 35,160.

At least six people died from the virus and thus the deaths reached 1,638 during the period.

MoPH officials also noted surge in positive Covid-19 cases this week compared to the previous weeks.
