KABUL (Pajhwok): The High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) chairman is scheduled to travel to Turkey today (Wednesday) to drum up support for peace efforts.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s visit to Turkey comes as Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to arrive in Kabul tomorrow (Thursday).
Faridoon Khwazoon, spokesman for HCNR, tweeted Abdullah would visit Turkey in response to an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He said Abdullah’s visit was part of a series of regional trips to Turkey to muster Ankara’s support for Afghan peace efforts.
