PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): At least four security personnel and 12 Taliban insurgents have been killed as a result of clashes in northern Baghlan province.
A security official told Pajhwok Afghan News on condition of anonymity the militants stormed security check-posts in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, on Monday night.
He said three security forces were killed, two wounded and a policeman captured by the Taliban in the Dasht-i-Alwan area of the city.
Police spokesman Ahmad Javed Basharat told Pajhwok 12 insurgents and four security personnel were killed in the overnight clashes in Pul-i-Khumri.
He two security personnel and 10 militants were also wounded. The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
