Ghani, Gurbanguly discuss bilateral ties, energy import

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Saturday held a telephonic conversation with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow and discussed matters of bilateral interest.

The two sides discussed friendly bilateral relations, successful convention of the Geneva Conference. The Turkmen leader congratulated Ghani on the successful Geneva conference and renewed Ashgabat’s continued support to Afghanistan.

The two sides also talked about electricity issues and agreed that Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat would talk to concerned authorities in Turkmenistan to finalize the import of Turkmenistan electricity to Afghanistan.

The Turkmenistan president talked about construction of a mosque in Afghanitan’s Aqena Port which will have the capacity for 500 worshipers and would be inaugurated in days to come.

President Ghani said his religious affairs minister would participate in the opening ceremony of the mosque.
