81kg of drugs seized in Nimroz: Police

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Police in northwestern Nimroz province on Sunday claimed seizing 81 kilograms of different types of narcotics.

A statement from the provincial police chief office to Pajhwok Afghan News said the drugs included 49 kilograms of hashish, 30 kilograms of opium and two kilograms of heroin.

It said the provincial counternarcotics force also detained a person for transporting the drugs during a reconnaissance operation in Zaranj city.

The detained person had skillfully hidden the drugs in a Saracha-type vehicle and wanted to transport them out of the city, but police foiled his attempt.
