KABUL Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Monday said 232 new positive Covid-19 cases and 27 deaths from the virus were recorded since yesterday in the country.
The ministry said 1,350 people underwent tests during the past 24 hours and the virus was detected in 232 people, pushing the total number of cases in the country to 48,133.
Of the fresh cases, 48 were detected in Kabul, 25 in Balkh, 22 in Herat, 21 in Paktia, 15 in Kandahar, 15 in Parwan, 14 in Sar-i-Pul, 12 in Baghlan, 10 in Nangarhar, nine in Takhar, eight in Laghman, seven in Kunduz, six in MaidanWardak, six in Zabul, four in Logar, three in Nimroz, three in Faryab, two each in Daikundi and Uruzgan.
At least 202 individuals were recovered from the pandemic during the past 24 hours, taking the recoveries to 37,984.
The ministry said that 27 people lost their lives to the virus during the period and the total deaths reached 1,902.
The ministry has announced that the second wave of the pandemic has begun in the country and people should follow the virus preventive guidelines.
