KABUL (Pajhwok): Second vice-president Sarwar Danish on Saturday said the Taliban’s unwillingness to declare ceasefire has eroded people’s trust in the peace process.
Addressing a gathering here, Danish said peace was the demand of every Afghan and everyone supported peace, but at the same time people were concerned about their rights and the return of past bitter times.
The VP regretted that the start of peace talks did not result in a truce and instead the violence surged, claiming lives of hundreds of civilians on a daily basis.
Danish believed people would not trust the peace process and the ongoing peace talks would yield no result until a ceasefire was declared.
