PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Awami National Party (ANP) chief said that better relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are essential to ensure peace in the region.
Asfandyar Wali Khan tied peace in Pakistan to the restoration of peace in Afghanistan. He said talks on restoration of peace in Afghanistan were also important for Pakistan and the entire region.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the Pakhtun nationalist leader said that all stakeholders should play an active role in the success of the ‘Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.
Asfandyar alleged terrorist groups were regrouping in different parts of the country, asking the government to fully implement the National Action Plan (NAP).
The government had failed to enforce all points of NAP and anti-state elements were regrouping in Buner, Dir, Swat, Bajaur, Quetta and other areas.
